Prerequisites

ASA 101; Basic Keel-boat Sailing Certification (or equivalent) The sailing student must demonstrate their skills and knowledge in two ways, with a practical exam (on-the-water skills assessment) with a certified ASA instructor, and by completing the multiple-choice, 100-question written examination with a score of at least 80.

Intermediate Keelboat Sailing

This is first course in a series of Intermediate Keelboat Sailing courses. This course is designed for those who have achieved a basic proficiency in Keelboat Sailing, and aims to develop intermediate-level skills necessary for sailing larger boats. The course is only four hours long, and there is no classroom attendance required. Upon completion of this course, sailors will be qualified to rent J-24 boats from Sail Dallas. However, if you already possess the required skills, you can challenge the course. The course covers a variety of knowledge and skills, including local knowledge of Lake Lewisville, rental rules and restrictions, By the end of the course, you will have gained the skills necessary for safely and effectively sailing larger keelboats, expanding your horizons in the world of sailing.
