Our Complete Basic Keelboat Sailing
Private Lesson Curriculum

Our private lesson format has been developed over years of experience.  You instructor will be skilled in the art of private lessons.  These are not just group lessons for a small group.  Your instructor will be able to analyze your skills, identify areas needing improvement, and work individually with each student.

There are generally three different Basic Keelboat private lessons available.  As with any custom course, these private lessons begin at several different skill levels.  Choose from the option that best fits your situation:

  1. Comprehensive ASA & US SAILING certified Basic Keelboat Sailing certification.  For the beginner or novice sailor who is looking for one-on-one instruction.  This is our complete Basic Sailing curriculum. The course description below outlines the course.

  2. STEP-II, "bridge" course.  This course is specifically designed for graduates of our ASA certified group lessons.  If you have attended one of our ASA group lesson (or have obtained your ASA certification from another school) and are interested in completing our Basic Sailing curriculum (i.e. rent our J-24's), this is the course you will take.  For further description & pricing of this course, click here.

  3. Refresher & Challenge courses.  These courses are for accomplished sailors who want to challenge the standards or who might want a refresher.  An accomplished sailor wishing to lease or rent our J-24's will be required to demonstrate sailing proficiency at the ASA & US SAILING Basic Keelboat Standard (described below).  Click here for pricing.
